The idea is borrowed from the Parisian arcades. The project dares an inner street that spreads in height on five levels and optimizes the space, in order to free itself from its urban constraints: land between two streets, common courtyards, non aedificandi areas, high-rise buildings directly opposite. The writing enhances the site with simplicity, dialogue with its environment, opens views and perspectives on the neighborhood and the Seine. The orientation of the buildings allows to benefit from the best possible sunshine by taking advantage of the open space to the southwest of the terrain. Inside, the vertical street, a genuine atrium, offers a protected and living place, all in transparency, as well as a great thermal comfort by its natural ventilation. A pixelated canopy, composed of photovoltaic cells, filters the light and casts its shadows on the walls. The volumes, the lines of the walkways and stairs are magnified. Finally, the use of wood, especially in classrooms, brings warmth and preciousness. A harmonious whole that enhances its urban environment.
