Conference at the Salon des Maires 2024
Join us on Thursday 21 November 2024 in the Risks and Adaptation of Territories Lab in Pavilion 3 of the Salon des Maires et des Collectivités Locales (Porte de Versailles) to discuss the advantages of wood as a material for meeting the social and societal challenges facing territories, including the vital need to create links between residents through wood or mixed wood construction or renovation. We are presenting : school Claire Bretécher in Nantes and high school Adeline Boutain à Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie. The conference takes place from 12:30 to 1:00 pm.
An architecture of light
Podcast in English: Jean-Michel Buron, architect and founder of Epicuria Architectes, grew up in Tunisia. A child of the Mediterranean, he draws inspiration from the architecture of Eastern cities in many of his projects. Two projects are explained in this podcast: the Lycée International Lucie Aubrac in Courbevoie (92) and the Institut Supérieur de l’Électronique et du Numérique in Caen (14) in France. School architecture as an educational tool
The architecture of educational establishments is proving to be a formidable educational vehicle for raising awareness of sustainable development and the environment through the values it displays. An article by Jean-Michel Buron on the Construction 21 website. Read the article in french.
Competition won
We won the bid to rebuild the Auguste Mailloux secondary school in Le Loroux-Bottereau (44). A real challenge for the region, this secondary school, which dates back to the 1970s, will be rebuilt on a neighbouring plot. The new school will be built of wood and stone, with a strong environmental focus, and will feature large landscaped areas. It will accommodate 840 pupils from 2027.
Foundation stone
On 21 May 2024, together with the Normandy region, the city of Caen and the ISEN Ouest teams and students, we laid the foundation stone for the future ISEN Ouest engineering school building. The new campus will open its doors at the start of the 2026 academic year to 600 engineering students.
