Built in the 1960s/1970s, this college is located in the Doubs, not far from the Swiss border. The operation made it possible to strengthen this vast complex presence on the plateau, visible from the commune below. The successive implantation of buildings on an elongated plot called for a solution delivering more homogeneity to the whole. In a region where wood is an essential resource, it is this material that constitutes the unification vector. The various building units thus present bare, robust volumes and facades warmly clad in wood cladding, to better face the harsh weather. Emphasis has been placed on exterior insulation and protection of openings by means of sunshades or wood breakage, designed with vertical blades to meet snow-making requirements.
